We welcome your active involvement in the school as a partner in the education of your student. Please consider participating as a volunteer, audience member, occasional chaperone, PTO, or just a concerned participant in your student’s education. There are many tasks that parents can do to assist in the classroom and to support schoolwide programs. Those who are interested in volunteering time at school should check with their child's teacher or contact the school office. Volunteers must slide their ID into the Raptor system at the office upon arrival. All volunteers will be required to wear a "volunteer" badge while on the premises.
Each school has a School Site Council composed of staff members and volunteer parents/guardians. The council meets regularly (about five times a year) to discuss issues pertaining to the instructional programs and special activities that are provided for the students. Each September an attempt is made to recruit parents willing to serve as representatives of the SSC. A parent interested in participating as a member of the SSC should complete the recruitment form and return it to your school or contact your school's office by telephone.
The English Language Advisory Committee is composed of parents of non-English speaking or limited English speaking students. The committee meets in conjunction with the School Site Council to discuss matters pertaining to services for bilingual students. Parents interested in serving on ELAC should fill out the volunteer form or contact your school's office.
